Digestive Remedies

As expected, digestive remedies are also colored to psychologically suggest their effectiveness. Probably the most popular stomach remedy in the United States is so closely associated with the color pink that the manufacturer attempted to trademark that particular shade. Surprisingly, that big pink bottle of Pepto Bismol does not contain any Red Dye #40! It does, however, contain D&C Red #22 and D&C Red #28 (Note that they are labeled "D&C" without the "F", meaning the dye is approved for use in Drugs and Cosmetics but not for food.)
